So, somehow, my post from yesterday about the seven additional Twitter accounts that Conan O’Brien was reportedly behind ended up on Tumblr’s “Radar,” whatever that means. And now, people are reblogging it like crazy.

Anyway, because of that, I thought I’d make this post and let everyone know that, unfortunately, Conan has nothing to do with all of those accounts.

I sent a Facebook message to Aaron Bleyaert (Conan staffer and former Tonight Show blogger) yesterday and asked him to confirm/deny the report. He got back to me this morning. Instead of posting a screengrab of the message—there is content unrelated to the issue at hand therein—I’m going to just quote the relevant passage.

Yes, I saw that today… And no, it’s not true. The only Twitter account that Conan is associated with right now is @conanobrien. The rest is all fans - hilarious, awesome fans - but fans nonetheless! Thanks for checking, though. It can be hard to sort the real goo from the fake goo these days. ;)

Well, there you have it. (The accounts are still hilarious and I still love them, by the way, no matter who’s behind it all.)
